I'm is a licensed massage therapist.  My business is my only livelihood and based on the challenging pandemic that we're all experiencing, I have been forced to cancel all my clients and therefore have no income.  My entire business is one-to- one.  Any donation would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

I was born in South Africa and extremely fortunate to be raised with alternative medicine and therefore embracing a holistic lifestyle. As a mother of two, I continued as the third generation in our family to be using natural and therapeutic healing methods . I started my healing career as a medical assistant in a integrative medical clinic. From there I went on to receive training and graduated as a H.H.P (holistic health practitioner) at the International Professional School of Bodywork in Pacific Beach, California.

For the past 20 years I have developed my career in massage and bodywork using a variety of unique therapies. I specialize in massage and body work techniques relieving symptoms like back pain, neck pain, headaches, arthritis, muscle spasms, and many more. My treatments also alleviate fatigue as well as anxiety and stress.

For many years I ran my own ‘mini’ spa and retail boutique, called ‘One Stop Body Shop” in Pacific Beach, California. Not only did I offer massage and hydrotherapy treatments, I also had a unique aromatherapy ‘bar’ where I would custom blend products for my clients, using clays, salts, herbs and aromatherapy essential oils. This became a very popular way for me to create individual home remedies for my clients. This is the way the name of my business, aRomyTherapy, was born.

The School of Healing Arts, was located down the street from my shop.  Seymour Koblin, the founder,  happened to stop in one day to buy a few aromatherapy oils. He was so impressed by the benefits of the oils that he asked me to teach Hydrotherapy and Spa at the school.

This was the beginning of my teaching career. I taught at the school for eight years. First it was classes in Hydrotherapy and Spa, and then I offered additional classes in Hot Stone Therapy and “Spa Kitchen”, a class that teaches how to make body products with ingredients straight from your kitchen.

I sold my spa business but continued teaching at the school. Then, while raising my kids, I began working independently with start-up spa owners.  I trained their staff and developed personalized treatment menus for them. During that time, I returned to IPSB to further my studies and so gained an Associates degree in Holistic Health.

I continue my private practice in Banker's Hill offering a variety of massage and body work.  My love of minerals and herbs has allowed me to integrate salt scrubs and mineral wraps in to my practice.  I continue to offer private workshops and I have also developed a line of skin care products called Skin Candy.
