Celebrate Troy Kelley's Life and Legacy

Dear MFRM family, friends, and loved ones,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our dear Troy Kelley last Thursday May 8th, 2025. Troy was a truly unique and compassionate soul whose profound care for everyone he knew touched countless lives. As a mentor and colleague at Mattress Firm for over 20 years, he guided those he trained and led with unwavering support, from interns at UCF to colleagues near and far. He celebrated their milestones, attending graduations, visiting the sick in hospitals, and quietly supporting his older friends, especially at his cherished hunting camp, which was his slice of heaven.

From young acquaintances to lifelong friends, Troy was there for life’s highs, like celebrating a child’s birth, and its hardest moments, offering comfort until the very end. As a neighbor, he was just as remarkable—always the first to help prep for storms, securing homes, or clean up debris afterward, ensuring everyone was safe. His genuine kindness, never shared on social media but felt deeply by those who knew him, made him the most caring and authentic human being. At his hunting camp, Troy built a whole community of friends who respected and loved him just as fiercely as we do at work, sharing his warmth and spirit in that sacred space.

To honor Troy’s incredible legacy, we’re organizing a celebration of his life on Wednesday, May 28th, at 3 PM at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Oviedo Florida (see invitation below). To make this heartfelt memorial possible, we’ve created a GoFundMe page to cover expenses for the gathering, including venue costs, refreshments, and personal touches like a memory display to reflect Troy’s vibrant spirit.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help us create a fitting tribute to the man who gave so much to our community. Any remaining balance of donations will be donated to a local charity.

Thank you for being part of Troy’s life and for helping us celebrate the extraordinary person he was. Together, we can ensure his light continues to shine brightly.
