Celebrate the Life of Tami Caballero

So many words to describe the people we love!  I have the daunting task to share some thoughts with you about my friend Tami Cirrincione Caballero.  At the age of 52, Tami Caballero succumbed to the damages of ovarian cancer that metastasized to the liver, spleen and duodenum.  She fought valiantly and gracefully for a year and a half.  She was such an example of grace under fire!

But this is not a story about cancer and the battle that comes with it.  It is a story about an amazing woman and the great loss we will feel with her gone from this world...and the incredible hardship her family continues to endure.

Tami Caballero was a daughter, a  sister, a mom, a fraternity brother, a craft maker, a boy scout troop leader, a cook, a friend . . . She was an adventure girl, she was courageous, she was a quiet protector, she was a best girlfriend and an honorable wife!  And so much more!

I am not sure what to share with you because all of the things that there are to share about Tami would take a lifetime.  Maybe I can beguile you with a few highlights:

-Dancing in the Rain
-Friend maker at every gas station or retail counter
-Foreign exchange student in England
-Nanny to some cute kids in England
-Driving up the coast, just because
-Taught Preschool
-Made Alfredo sauce from scratch
-Lover of outdoor adventures
- VP of Membership (grew membership 250%)
-Pledge Instructor
-Choir singer
-Accountant by trade
-Fly by the seat of you pants girl by night

The ravages of cancer has left my friend and her family with little to no worldly treasures.  The story of their loss will challenge most any level of horror stories.

Tami had family members challenge whether she really had cancer, sad really.  She found herself and her family without much resources.  They were lost in the battle to get appointments with Oncology specialists.  Health insurance was not reliable to easy to navigate.    There wasn't any money and her health was hanging by a thread and the cancer was winning.  Suddenly, life came at them with another whammy and they found themselves homeless.  The owner of their home decided it was a good time to sell and asked them to leave knowing they were still battling this horrible cancer.  Suddenly, they found their family divided and not sharing the same space.  One son was living in Texas.  The other son was living under the good graces of his childhood friend, nearby but not with them.  Thankfully, they were able to keep the small remainder of their family together.  Mother and Father and Daughter living in one bedroom.  They  found a space that would keep them close while Tami continued her battle.  They lovingly kept going.  Their church family worked to keep them supported.  When Paul would fret and worry, Tami would lighten her countenance a tell Paul "We just roll with the punch, right honey?"

So, the reason for my story is to invite you to share your stories, join us for a celebration of life and support a family in their neediest of times.

If you have a story about Tami that you would like shared at her memorial, please message it here so we can share more of her life's adventures.  Or join us, for the Memorial Services on Saturday March 14th at 10am.  Location is the Church of Jesus Christ LDS Barstow Building, 2571 Barstow Road, Barstow, CA .

Tami had so many friends and family far and wide.  We hope you can join us in person or in spirit or in story!  You are also invited to help us support the family in their final act to honor this incredible lady.  Life's expenses has this family barely surviving.  The costs to transport the body and prepare a memorial service is daunting.  Any donation to help reunite this family divided would be greatly appreciated.
