A Loving Wife and Mother, Gone too Soon

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Stacy Weber, and yesterday we lost a ray of sunshine in this world. “TeTe” “SoSo” meant the world to so many around her. She was and is surrounded by love with family, friends, her children and amazing husband, John. Myself, John and the family are asking if you can contribute to this fund, so we can celebrate her life in the way we feel she deserves. Thank you and God Bless.

From Morgan Hughes- Sonya’s Sister

It pains me to tell this tragic story that began on June 16th, 2023.My sister went to the emergency room at St Katherine's hospital in Kenosha, WI, complaining of breathing problems and other symptoms. She was diagnosed with pneumonia, prescribed antibiotics, and sent home. On June 27th she went to see her primary care physician still suffering because the antibiotics weren't working, and he had her admitted to the same hospital, where they continued to give her antibiotics and fluids. She was responsive and talking at the time but two days later she went into respiratory failure and had to be put on a ventilator and sedated, along with medication to keep her heart pumping as her blood pressure was slowly declining. The doctor then decided to do a bronchoscopy and biopsy of her lungs, which according to them came back positive for Blastomycosis, which is a fungus found in soil or water in Wisconsin and other states. They started her on antifungal treatment at this time. I asked the doctor to report it to the health department and he told me he didn't have to. However, according to Wisconsin state law it's a level 2 disease that needs to be reported with 72 hours of a positive test result. At this point the doctors are now trying to figure out how she was exposed. There is a company called SciFi that was and still are currently digging around her home installing underground cable. The health department has now opened up an investigation regarding this tragedy. Blastomycosis can be deadly if not diagnosed promptly and it's highly under-reported, so please do your research on this fungus if you reside in a state where it is prevalent so you won't have to go through what our family has to.
