Celebrate the life and memory of Ron Miller

Update: thanks to those who were able to attend our memorial in Austin! An additional invite has gone out to those in the Portland Metro / PNW Area for a local memorial on 3/23.

My husband and best friend, Ronald Miller II, recently passed after an intense battle with cancer. Over the last two years, Ron was diagnosed with oral cancer and underwent numerous surgeries, rounds of radiation, chemotherapy, and clinical trials to find any treatments that could work while the cancer spread. On February 18th, Ron passed peacefully. I will be forever grateful for the support of his and my friends and family during a difficult 2+ week hospitalization. I am also thankful for the patient, wonderful, and attentive nurses and doctors at St. David's North Austin ICU.

More importantly, Ron was far more than his last two years. He was a fierce friend to many, a talented entertainer and singer, and a proud dog-dad who loved to live life fully and without reservation. He loved his ISRC community in Portland and was so proud of his reign as Mr. Gay Portland (28), but often talked about his life in Coos Bay, Chicago, and his childhood in the Bay Area. Ron always tried his best to excel at his work and was beloved by the coworkers he met and the clients whose lives he touched. He loved to eat (at most places), drink (especially at our bar away from home Hopsquad), and laugh (with everyone). Ron was bold and unapologetic in life, brave, steadfast, and protective of those he loved.

Ron will be laid to rest in Portland, where many friends and family remain close, and where we started and grew our life together. Memorials to follow in Austin @ Hopsquad and Portland, Portland location/date to be confirmed. Any gifts will be used to support his memorial (and three rambunctious Siberian Huskies!).
