Celebrate South Asian Dance at Texas A&M

The Texas A&M University South Asian Dance Competition, Iktara, was established in 2023 to celebrate the rich traditions of South Asian dance. As a fusion and classical dance competition, Iktara serves as a platform for students to showcase their talent while embracing cultural heritage. Our goal is to raise awareness of South Asian traditions and create a collaborative, inclusive environment for dancers and audiences alike. Through this event, we hope to foster a deeper appreciation of South Asian performing arts and strengthen our community.
