My baby girl Sophia was born at just 26 weeks, and fought so hard for 2 months and 18 days. She struggled with a heart defect, underdeveloped lungs, a belly button infection, and a lymphatic leak. She was doing well for a while, then started to need more and more help. She was found to have that leak and we all thought we'd solved her biggest problem! But she was too small to be able to find where the leak was, and the medicine that has been mostly successful in treating it hurt her already damaged organs, this time too much. And so I got to see her sweet face finally tube-free, hold her in my arms, and let her be in peace.

This May, on the 10th, is her very first birthday, and I'd like us all to spend it by giving back. My baby girls memory deserves to be more than just sadness and what ifs. She was the sweetest baby, and other sweet babies deserve to get better, so for her birthday, if at all possible, a donation to this cause would be so, so appreciated.

The three causes I have chosen to split all of the funds equally with are: The March of Dimes, the Arkansas Children's Hospital NICU, and the LGD Alliance (for lymphatic malformations).

In honor of my daughter and her fight, I ask and encourage you to, if at all possible, donate to this fundraiser. I would love for my daughter's legacy to be one of hope and joy, and giving back to those who helped us so much definitely deserve to feel that hope.
