Celebrate Sheila Dunning's Impact: Support Her Programs

Donation protected
Sheila Dunning was a commercial horticulture agent in Okaloosa County for over 22 years. She entered into Extension with over 20 years of experience in the nursery industry. There wasn’t a bug she didn’t know or a plant she couldn’t rattle off the Latin name for. She navigated the confusing world of pesticide and fertilizer licenses with ease. Always ready and willing to help someone with questions, get a project off the ground, or attend her grandkid’s sports events.

She impacted the lives of so many people, from 4-H to the Green Industries professionals, her colleagues, and her friends. She loved the outdoors and we all knew that the one thing she hated most was hot weather. She was an outstanding educator, mentor, and true friend. When a job needed to get done, she was in there with the pruners, shovels, or other tools. Never one to stand on the sidelines and direct—she was right in the trenches (literally) with you.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to programs that were near and dear to Sheila’s heart. The funds raised will be divided equally and given to the following causes: Okaloosa County 4-H, Baker FFA, Okaloosa County Master Gardeners new teaching landscape/greenhouse, Okaloosa Unique Professionals Program, and the McMahon Environmental Center.
