Celebrate Rose and Ann: Uplift Local Educators

We invite you to join us in honoring the extraordinary legacies of two remarkable women — Rose Ramsey-Ivy and Elizabeth “Ann” Fortson — whose passion for education and youth empowerment has touched many lives.

Rose Ramsey-Ivy was a beloved third-grade teacher at Reed Elementary in Shuqualak, Mississippi. Known for her kindness, dedication, and love for her students, Rose inspired young minds every day. Beyond her role as an educator, she was a devoted wife and mother of two daughters. Tragically, Rose passed away from breast cancer just three days after giving birth to her baby daughter. Her courage and love remain an enduring inspiration to all who knew her.

Rose’s sister, Elizabeth “Ann” Fortson, shared that same heart for nurturing youth. Growing up together in Charleston, West Virginia, Ann dedicated herself to her community as a loving wife, mother of two, and an active volunteer. She worked tirelessly with youth through her church, Girl Scouts, and after-school programs, shaping lives and fostering hope throughout Charleston. Sadly, Ann lost her battle with cancer in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

To celebrate the memory and spirit of these two incredible sisters, we are hosting The Rose and Elizabeth Ann Appreciation Breakfast Event in Jackson, Mississippi and Charleston, WV. This special gathering will provide a free breakfast and goodie bags to teachers at a local high school — a small token of gratitude for educators who carry forward Rose and Ann’s legacy of love and commitment to youth.
We kindly ask for your support in making this event a success. Your donation will help us honor Rose and Ann’s memory, uplift teachers, and continue nurturing the next generation with the passion these women exemplified.

Together, we can keep their spirits alive by investing in the educators and youth who need encouragement the most. Please donate!!

Thank you for your generosity and for believing in the power of love, education, and community.

Respectfully,

Ramsey-Ivy & Fortson Family
