RJ Legaspi was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on March 20, 2025. He has been an absolute fighter; he didn't lose his battle. He lived fully, fiercely, and strongly. He left when he was ready on his own terms on September 17, 2025.
Rj was never angry at how hard this battle was. He continued with a brave and kind attitude. He remained optimistic while others were worried for him. "I'm going to fight this and I'm going to win," as he always said.
He was a source of light, laughter, and strength for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. RJ always made sure to check on the people around him. With a warm smile, he asked his doctors and nurses how they were doing. Rj made it so easy to care about the people who were right around him. When his nurses switched shifts, he would always tell them thank you and to make sure to get home safely. He left an impact that will never be forgotten.
He approached each day with grace and resilience, reminding us all of the power of hope, even in the hardest moments. His time here, though far too short.
We are reaching out now to ask for your support. Our family is raising funds to help cover the remaining medical bills, funeral expenses, and to honor Rj's memory in a meaningful way. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to us as we navigate this heartbreaking time.
Thank you for your love, support, and for helping us celebrate the life of someone so special. We also want to thank Seattle Children's Hospital and OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. RJ will always be remembered for who he was—not defined by what he faced.
With gratitude,
Raichelle, Mye, Regie, Aurea, and Richard Sr. The Legaspi Family.
