Hello, this GoFundMe is being organized by Nancy and myself, Benoit, two of Rika’s closest friends.

For Our Lovely Rika — In Support of Her Sons, Alex and Dylan

For those of you who knew Rika, she was the brightest star you could ever meet.

She had the sweetest smile — the kind that could brighten your day no matter how down you were.

She was passionate about everything she did — whether it was something she loved, something she debated, or something she believed needed to change. But above all, she was passionate about raising her two sons, Alex and Dylan.

Rika was compassionate, warm, deep, genuine, and sensitive — and her presence was infectious.

She expressed herself so fully, so fearlessly, that you couldn’t help but feel inspired to do the same.

Sadly, on July 2nd, Rika reached the end of her long struggle — emotionally and physically.

She lived bravely with her pain for so long.

We love you, Rika.

We will miss your presence, your fire, your laughter — and the way you lit up every space you walked into.

Now, it’s our turn to honor her the way she deserved. We are organizing a celebration of her life:

Fittingly, it will take place on French Independence Day — Bastille Day.

Rika believed deeply in freedom — of thought, of spirit, of love — and lived that belief in every way.

She would have wanted this gathering to be filled with color, poetry, and warmth, not sorrow.

Please, no dark clothes — just bring your light.

We are raising funds to cover the funeral and celebration costs, and to support Alex and Dylan through this incredibly difficult time.
