Help Pete's Daughter Celebrate His Life and Legacy
Donation protected
My dad, Pete Gronli, passed away on March 28th 2025, after a nearly two week hospital stay following a massive aneurysm and brain bleed. He underwent several procedures but never regained consciousness. He received extraordinary and compassionate care, and was peaceful when he passed away.
I am Pete's daughter, Mikaila. I am an only child, and my mom also passed away some time ago. I have done my best to carry out my dad's wishes for the end of his life and his memorial. I am fortunate to have actually had conversations with my dad about what he wanted.
My dad has been cremated, as he told me he wished to be. He was a no fuss kind of man, and told me he did not want "a big to-do" of a formal funeral service in a church. Instead, we are planning to have a celebration of life for his friends and family at the home I shared with him once the weather turns warmer. I would like to have a kind of outdoor open-house/pot luck gathering. The nature where he lived was something that was important to my dad, so I think it is fitting to have his memorial in what was one of his favorite places in the world. I plan to continue living in this home for the foreseeable future.
The sum of $1117 I put as the goal is the amount I paid for his cremation. At this time I do not have figures for other memorial services because we are not having a traditional funeral. Any donated funds will go towards the cost of my dad's cremation, the celebration of life we will plan to have when it gets warmer, and helping me stay afloat financially as paperwork is filed and I gain additional employment.
