Pete Bell (1971–2025)

Peter John Bell, 54, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on April 20th, 2025.

Mr. Bell was born in Marinette, Wisconsin in 1971 to parents Kay and Donn Bell, and was recognized early as a child prodigy who excelled at academics.

Though selected to matriculate at such august institutions as MIT and Stanford, Mr. Bell chose to study closer to home at UW Madison where he graduated with high honors. Mr. Bell then went to work in technology proving himself prodigious in both programming and administration. A true polymath, Mr. Bell also lectured on topics as diverse as philosophy and theology. His council was sought by public intellectuals as well as literary publications. Mr. Bell deeply enjoyed music and was a songwriter in his spare time. Particular favorite genres included country and folk. Mr. Bell also greatly enjoyed movies and had an encyclopedic knowledge of film, particularly horror and noir.

To those individuals lucky enough to encounter him Mr. Bell was a rare mentor. The light of his intellect only eclipsed by the warmth of his heart and depth of his loyalty.

He will be so deeply missed.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his Grandmother Clara Bell, and is survived by a twin brother Jason Bell, his sister Heather Bell, his partner Valerie Roberts, his nephew Hayden Conley as well as his father Donn Bell.
