I am Michelle, one of the daughter's of Patty Jenkins.
My mom went to heaven last Wednesday after some health issues. In October last year she got sick with pneumonia and spent some time in the hospital. It took a hit on her body so, she headed to a rehab center for some help to get back on her feet. Well one issue after another and she did not get better. There were many trips to the ER, hospital stays and then she was put on dialysis which was not good.
She stopped eating and lost tons of weight.
On Saturday morning I got a call saying she was headed to the ER and not in good shape. They sent her to Bloomington, were they said she was in septic shock and not much they could do. Not long after she passed.
Mom was born and raised In Long Point, one of the Cook's, we would say. She married my dad, Ron and later David.
We were raised " in the house between the churchs". Mom welcomed everyone into her home. Welcome for coffee, tea, a talk, a shoulder to cry on. She would offer to help any way she could.
She loved her little one. Always had them close, On her lap or in her arms.
This was a message sent from a nieghbor girl who spent lots of time at mom's. Touched my heart.
I’ll always remember the way you made me feel like part of the family, never hesitating to let me come over, play, and just be a kid. You gave me more than a place to visit you gave me a place where I felt safe, loved, and seen. Thank you for everything. For your love, your laughter, your gentle spirit. I will carry your memory with me always. Rest In Peace
So we are asking for help with unexpected funeral expenses.
We have decided what we have left over we will be donating to Long Point township. We want to use the money for a new playset for the park, which was just across the road from mom's. She spent many hours waiting the kids and took my grand daughter over there many times.
Thank you in advance. Blessings!
