Celebrate Nash's Birthday with a Green Gift

I would like to introduce a

young man whose commitment to preserving the health and beauty of our environment spans over decade.

His name is Nash Walden and today is his 35th birthday.

Nash began this journey 10-years ago during a time of personal transformation. Filling garbage bags with litter became symbolic of his intention to foster positive change within himself and within communities.

What began as motivation for change became a mission of love and devotion.

Nash has endured some of life's most challenging events. The devasting losses of his sister, grandmother, grandfather-all within the past two years. The loss of a job he loved but for which he was no longer able to sacrifice his dignity, health, and well being.

Where most people might self-destruct, Nash blessed his community. He never stopped gathering garbage off the streets, in the bushes, from the trees, in the alleys.

He has driven countless miles, invested time and money even when he struggled to make ends meet.

Thousands of needles, beer cans, plastic bags, cigarette butts, food containers later and today is his birthday. Guess what he's doing?

Nash has never asked for anything but company in his efforts because to him, this isn't a job, it's his life-line. It's his heart and soul. It's in his blood.

It's also a dream of his to engage the community in the care of our environment.
