My beautiful new snow globe — this place I now call home — has been hit by a devastating flood. Disaster funding through the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is tapped, and there’s been no national news to tell our story.

People have been displaced from their homes, businesses are working to recover, and many local workers are unable to work this month.

I moved to a place some call Christmas Town, and this year it’s been a very quiet Christmas.
