Honor Mrs. G's Legacy with Outdoor Space at WGMS
Tax deductible
For 28 years, Mrs. Carolyn Guariglia was a beloved teacher at Reservoir (nee Washington) Gifted Middle School. From cheerleading to Craft Club to Young Problem Solvers to Loredo Taft, she left a huge imprint on the students whose lives she touched. The alumni community of this special school was saddened to hear of Mrs. G's passing in late December 2022.
Reservoir Gifted Academy continues to be an engaging, unique school for new generations of Wildcats. In fact, our beloved school was recently named one of the top middle schools in Illinois.
During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, students began eating lunch and doing more programming outside. They have set up a garden and seating area, but it lacks shade and permanence.
We are raising $15,000 to create a permanent outdoor learning space on the school campus. Funds will be used to add shade structures, upgraded seating and a larger garden. The space will be dedicated and named in honor of Mrs. G. and her legacy at the school. The GOLF (Guarigilia Outdoor Learning Facility) will allow the school community to use the space in many more ways- as an outdoor classroom and learning environment- for much more of the school year and for decades to come.
Please contribute what you can and share with other Wildcat alumni and fans so that the new and improved outdoor classroom will be ready for Spring.
This is the future home of the GOLF:
