Celebrate Mike Santen's Life: Help with Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved father, Michael Santen—though everyone knew him as Mike. He was the youngest of four and a proud father to four daughters: Morgan (30), Cassidy (28), Mickie (25), and Rylee (23). He had the most beautiful blue eyes, but it was his kind heart and adventurous spirit that truly made him special.
In the past two months, our dad fought through numerous health complications and endured multiple surgeries. Despite his strength and resilience, his body could no longer keep up with his fighting spirit. Through it all, he remained the same loving, funny, and stubborn man we knew, always putting his family first. In passing, he continued to give to others—he was an organ donor, offering the gift of life to those in need.
Mike loved the outdoors, spending summers golfing at Butterfield Country Club, fishing, and landscaping. He was also a dedicated basketball coach, a loyal Chicago Bears fan, and an avid snowmobiler. His career as a landscaper suited him perfectly—his online username was fittingly “mowerman.”
He had a deep love for music, especially Jimmy Buffett, and was an incredible cook—though none of us have quite mastered his secret taco recipe. He adored animals, especially dogs, despite being allergic. A lifelong lottery player, he believed rubbing a ticket on your head before checking brought good luck—so if you ever buy one, do it in his honor.
Mike was more than a father; he was our mentor, coach, and the heart of our family. As we navigate this loss, we’re asking for support to cover funeral expenses and give him the farewell he deserves. Any contribution, big or small, means the world to us. If you can’t donate, sharing this page or keeping us in your thoughts is just as meaningful.
Thank you for your love and support. ❤️
