Honoring the Life of Mary Jeanette Belton Alexander

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Jeanette Belton Alexander, who departed this life in June 2025 at the age of 71. Born in February 1954, Mary was a beautiful soul whose warmth, compassion, and strength touched everyone she met.

Mary was a devoted mother to three children — Imani, James Jr, and Christopher — and a loving grandmother to eight cherished grandchildren and one amazing great grandchild. Family was everything to her. She carried herself with quiet grace and unshakeable love, always placing others before herself.

In her later years, Mary bravely battled dementia, a cruel and debilitating disease that slowly took her from us long before her physical passing. Despite the struggle, she remained surrounded by the love and care of her family every step of the way.

We are reaching out to our community — friends, loved ones, and those who were touched by Mary’s kindness — to help us honor her life and legacy. Your contributions will go directly toward funeral and memorial expenses, and will also provide financial assistance to her daughter, Imani, as she navigates this difficult transition and takes on added responsibilities in the wake of this loss.
