Honoring Maria V. Sanchez – A Life of Strength, Love, and Service

It is with unimaginable sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Maria V. Sanchez. Maria was a warrior in every sense of the word. She bravely survived breast cancer twice and continued to shine as a beacon of strength and resilience for her family and all who knew her. Just last Friday, Maria was diagnosed with ALS – a cruel disease that had already progressed to its final stages, taking her from us far too soon.

Maria’s life was dedicated to serving others. As an elementary school teacher in Chicago, she shaped countless young lives with her kindness, patience, and unwavering belief in the power of education. Her classroom was a place of warmth and inspiration, where children found encouragement, love, and hope. Outside of the classroom, she poured that same love into her family, as a devoted mother to her daughter and son, and a cherished grandmother to her four grandsons.

Her sudden departure has left us heartbroken and unprepared. We now face the overwhelming challenge of honoring her memory and giving her the farewell she truly deserves.
