Celebrate Kevin's Life and Support His Family

Dear friends & family,

Our hearts mourn the loss of our brother, Officer Kevin Higgs. Kevin was an 18-year veteran of the WCDOC. During his tenure, Kevin was known to be a reliable, dependable, and genuine friend and co-worker. His charismatic smile, joyous laugh, and big heart were always on display. Kevin was a great family man, tireless servant, and pillar of his community. Kevin mentored, trained, and taught generations of kids throughout the City of White Plains. For many years, Kevin gave of himself whether it was in his community or here at WCDOC. As a community leader, Kevin was the driving force behind the Ferris World Basketball Tournament, one of New York’s most popular outdoor basketball events. Kevin’s vision and selflessness created a legacy that will last forever.

Unfortunately, on March 20, 2025, at the age of 51, Kevin passed away unexpectedly. Kevin leaves behind his wife Lenore, their three sons Jeremy, Julien, and Jahanzeb, as well as a grandson Kamar. Kevin has supported so many for so long, it's only right that we support him and his family through this challenging time. Let’s all show up for Kevin the way he has always shown up for us by contributing to his farewell.
