In memory of Ken Alderson's lifelong dedication to community service, we are launching this fundraising campaign to support the Louisville Astronomical Society Inc. (LAS).

Ken served as LAS President for over a decade, and through his leadership and commitment to education, thousands upon thousands of lives were touched and curiosities about the universe were inspired.

Ken was particularly committed to accessibility of learning. The Library Telescope Program, an LAS partnership with the Louisville Free Public Library, offers free telescope rental and education materials on loan to the local community, affording many citizens the ongoing opportunity to learn and develop an appreciation for the stars. Gifts will also support the LAS astronomy education center and observatory, located in Curby, Indiana - a perfect location to witness the night sky and learn through the educational programs Ken refined and presented to many, many groups of students, families, and astronomical enthusiasts.

Your generosity will honor Ken's legacy and life as a passionate individual who cared so much for the betterment of others through education. Through his memory and your generosity, many lives can continue to be enhanced through the power of community.
