ʻO Lindsey Kaleikaumaka Morse Najera koʻu inoa, and I'll be graduating from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa on Saturday, May 16, 2026 with my Master's in Education, Educational Foundations with emphasis on Global Perspectives on Educational Policy and Practice.
Despite being a former teen mom, told I had "ruined" my life by becoming a parent so early in life, I hold two associate degrees and a bachelor's degree, and have been working toward my master's degree and completing research all the while raising two children, working full-time in higher education, and dedicating significant time and energy to learning and dancing hula and perpetuating my culture as a Native Hawaiian.
This is my graduation fund, for anyone with the desire and means to celebrate this accomplishment with me!
The money raised here will help with:
-my ʻohana's trip tp Oʻahu for my College of Education convocation and graduation ceremony from UH in May.
(This will be the first time my children get to go home and be on ʻāina)
-my trip to Kauaʻi for hula intensive training under my Kumu Hula in August, a special honor that I do not take for granted.
-offsetting any remaining costs of graduate school;
I was very fortunate to receive aid as a Hawaiian through tuition waivers and scholarships specifically for Hawaiians that I am not leaving my program with much student debt.
In a world where the cost of living is nearly crippling and with so many significantly more important causes to give financial assistance to, I am grateful for any funds raised here.
ME KE ALOHA,
Kaleikaumaka
