Hi everyone,
We are reaching out with a heavy heart as my family and I navigate the unexpected loss of our brother, born February 16, 1993.
We were both born and raised in New Orleans, a city that shaped his entire spirit. After Hurricane Katrina, we had to relocate, but New Orleans never left him. He eventually returned, visiting often, always reconnecting with the city that made him who he was. That bold, soulful, joyful energy lived in him. If you knew our brother, you knew he was loud in the best way. His laugh could fill a room. His presence was magnetic. He was a free spirit with a heart of gold. Always working hard, always helping someone, always smiling through it all. And of course, we can’t forget he’d always say, “Cajun Dominican hits different,” even though he didn’t speak a lick of Spanish. That was him: bold, funny, and unapologetically himself.
But above all, he loved his daughter, Lilyana. She was his entire world. To her, he wasn’t just a dad; he was always there to be a safe place, her biggest fan, and her best friend. She’d always light up when he walked in the room, and he did the same. The bond they shared was something beautiful and unbreakable.
One of his final wishes was to have a second line band at his funeral. For him, it wasn’t just music; it was a way to celebrate life, culture, and spirit the way only New Orleans knows how. Honoring that wish would mean everything to us. We’re asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, including the second line band, and to support Lilyana as we move forward without the person who meant so much to us all. Any amount helps, and if you can’t donate, a share would mean the world.
Thank you for helping us give him the New Orleans send-off he truly deserves—loud, full of love, and unforgettable.
