Celebrate Excellence - Help Support Brett's Family

Donation protected
In loving memory of William ‘Brett’ Fowler, we are saddened to announce his passing on June 29, 2020.  Brett was with his family, on vacation, when he suffered signs similar to a heart attack.  He remained in the intensive care unit for a few weeks before it was determined that Brett would not be able to survive this tragedy.  His wife and family, together, had the difficult decision of letting his body go after it was determined he had lost his life to coronary artery disease.

Brett worked for our organization since 2012 and most recently at our North Scottsdale location as the property’s Maintenance Supervisor.  Through his leadership style, he would encourage his teammates, providing them with the care and patience needed to excel and grow.  Brett would build up people through his knowledge, support, and guidance.  He was ‘tough as nails’ yet his love and care for the individuals he worked with and served was easily felt and reinforced by his every action.  Brett was an inspirational leader and a hero to his team, who fiercely loved him.

In his personal life, Brett shared his home with his wife Shanna and his 8-year-old child, Ruby.  Being her father brought out the child in him and Ruby was his greatest joy outside of his wife, whom he adored.  He also had one another child, Tate, from a previous marriage.  Together, he and Shanna spent their time enjoying one another, their family, their friends, and life.  As a proud US Navy veteran, he loved celebrating the Fourth of July, and, like most of us, he would spend his time with his loved ones, while talking sports, fishing, and reminiscing about younger days and good memories.

If you knew Brett, you knew he never hesitated to go out of his way to help others.  He could brighten any day with his charisma, and he would welcome every opportunity to make a difference.  Even when he was young, he would protect other kids in school from being bullied as he always looked out for the underdog.   It was these acts of kindness that made it so easy to love Brett.  He was a genuine friend, a dedicated colleague, a natural leader, a loving husband, a proud father, and a good son and brother.  Brett was wonderfully fun and had a huge personality and an even bigger heart.

A Celebration of Life, to honor Brett, will be planned at a later date and an announcement will be extended to his family and friends once a date has been selected.

In the meantime, to help support Brett’s family, we would greatly appreciate any donations or condolence letters for his family.  Brett is survived by his wife and 8-year-old daughter.  Any financial contributions will benefit his family in regards to helping off-set the medical expenses, unexpected but anticipated house repairs, and Ruby’s educational development.  This has been a huge loss in so many ways for Shanna and Ruby, the depth of which is deeper than can be put into words.  Brett was their world.

If you are unable to donate, please know that small acts of kindness and paying it forward will honor Brett and his family just as much.

Thank you all so much for loving Brett and by extension, his family.
