Celebrate Elliot's Birthday thru Susie's Wagon!

Hi Everyone!
It's my birthday! 41 :)
I have so much beauty in my life - friends, life, health and a great year. I don't need anything gifts but I do have an ask. My family has a program - it's called Susie's Wagon (pending) 501c3 - named after my maternal grandmother’s unfulfilled desire as a little girl, to own a little red wagon. Granny Sue was a candy sneaking, warm giggling, grandchild loving, southern firecracker that we would all choose as our grandmother if given the chance.
She was my biggest fan. She was incredibly special. So is this program.

Every year we raise funding to buy a batch (last year was 20) brand new MacBooks. We curate a nomination community of leaders, teachers, counselors all over the US - the heroes on the ground floor of students-in-need, and ask them to tell us about a student who shows promise. That student gets a MacBook. That simple.

We aim the spotlight on both audiences the TEACHERS (who get to be the givers of the gift) and the students who don't realize there's someone watching. We're just the engine - just the Wagon.

 

I invite you to give to our program. Anything counts.

Every donation is corporate matched so $5 = $10. We have a few fundraising plans but one way is selling our t-shirts. They are $50 (I know - pricey ... BUT) with the corporate match every t-shirt = $100.00

 

... SO EVERY 10 SHIRTS IS A NEW LAPTOP FOR A STUDENT!

 

So if you give $50 we will send you the world’s softest tri-blend t-shirt from American Apparel. The students get one too! We want EVERYTHING these students touch to be world class.

 

My first computer (that my Granny paid for) changed my life. It's a gift that has enabled and enhanced every part of my life – most importantly, enables me to do this.

p.s - here's a letter we received from one of the students.

"I'm very sorry that I've taken so long to write this email to you guys!

I've been a bit down cause my mom was in the hospital, so I had no motivation to really do anything. When she came out, I took another read at the letter I was sent and was remotivated to actually do things again; even going out to the gym with a friend and working out real good.

Now that I have the laptop, I can get into animation softwares such as Blender and Source Filmmaker and start learning them all over again, and actually start turning it into a skill since the laptop is very powerful. I can maybe even other discover other software to mess with.

I am very thankful for the kind words and encouragement that I was given within the letter, and I am infinitely more grateful for the laptop!

I would love to help out with the project you guys are doing, and if there is any way I can possibly help please let me know and keep me updated. Once again I am very thankful for the laptop and how it really can help aid me in advancing my career
