Celebrate Delvon's Legacy of Love & Style

Delvon Johnson was a gifted author, fashionista, radio and television personality, celebrity stylist, and community advocate. His published works, which included the novels Love Yourself First, Mirror, Mirror, Invisible Rain, and A Bitch Named Autumn, received widespread critical acclaim and established Delvon as an author worth reading. These books explored the fashion world and all things fabulous, which was an essential part of Delvon’s métier. Combining these two passions led Delvon to adopt red carpets and runways all over the New York/New Jersey area as his alternate residencies. This gave rise to Fashion In The Fast Lane, a show Delvon co-hosted with PR specialist and makeup expert Yvonne “Ms. Divadazz” Forbes, his best friend and “partner in crime.” Their daily Fashion Etc.: Midday Edition podcast enjoyed a huge fan following.

Whether it was hosting a Fashion Week event or interviewing an A-lister at the GLAAD Media Awards, Delvon was always pushing forward, immaculately styled and accessorized. Delvon also enjoyed working diligently with fashion luminaries throughout the industry. Delvon excelled in his role as a radio and TV personality, speaking out on a broad range of topics on major platforms and programs.

Delvon’s signature high heels, which highlighted his fierce devotion to free self-expression, were a testament to his own dedicated advocacy for the greater LGBTQ community and for all those living with disabilities. Although Delvon struggled through daunting health challenges, this never stopped him from making the most of each day and inspiring others around him to capture their special moments as well. Delvon personified free-spiritedness and unapologetically lived his authentic life.

For all these wonderful things about Delvon, and all the lives he enriched, we are planning a fitting memorial event, as Delvon takes his place among the Ancestors.
