Celebrate Dayana's Life: Support Her Family

Today, we say goodbye to our beloved Dayana, my dear goddaughter, who was born on July 26, 2015. From the very beginning, her journey was filled with both hope and heartache. When she was just 10 months old, she was diagnosed with a serious heart condition and was admitted to Stanford Hospital. The news from the doctors was one no parent ever wants to hear: she needed a heart transplant.
With unwavering hope and love, we waited until she was two years old, holding onto the possibility of a new life. When the moment finally arrived and she received her transplant, it was a miracle that brought us immense joy. Dayana was full of life, resilience, and an infectious spirit that touched everyone around her. Despite her strength, we knew her journey wouldn’t be without challenges, and we faced the future with both hope and acceptance.
Over the years, her visits to the hospital became a part of her story, yet she continued to shine brightly through it all. Today, on May 10, 2025, she left us peacefully. Her passing feels like a heartbreaking gift—one that reminds us of the preciousness of life, the strength of love, and the resilience of her spirit.
Dayana gifted us so many beautiful memories—moments of laughter, love, and innocence that will stay with us forever. Her light will continue to shine in our hearts, and her memory will live on as a testament to her courage and the love she shared with us all.
To her wonderful mother, Monica, her loving husband, and her little brother Alex Jr.—my heart is with you during this unimaginable time. I know how deeply you loved her and how much she meant to all of us. May you find comfort in each other’s love and in the beautiful soul that was Dayana. Her spirit will always be with us, guiding and watching over us.
Rest peacefully, sweet girl. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
