Celebrate Buggy's Life with a New Orleans Send-Off
Donation protected
Hey everyone. My name is Bella Blue and I have been organizing Buggy's Celebration of Life alongside a few other community members so that we can give him a proper New Orleans send off. I initially had a campaign on Give Butter but they took it down because they don't support individual fundraisers -- only groups and non profits, etc. Over there we raised $650. So this is for the remaining balance for Buggy's celebration.
As many of you know, Edwin "Buggy" Johnson was taken from his family and friends on June 18th, 2025. While Buggy was raised in Alabama, he spent the last few years of his life making his presence known in New Orleans. He had a full time job, lived on his own, and made friends wherever he went. He touched so many people with his smile, his signature wave, his dance moves, and his positive presence that he brought to every room he walked into. He celebrated his life by being proudly Deaf and a member of the LGBTQ community. We want to celebrate his life, his legacy, and his memory in proper New Orleans Second Line tradition.
These funds will go to payments for the brass band, permits for the second line, some memorabilia that is being created for those in attendance of the second line to have a keepsake, and supplies needed for the gathering post Second Line parade.
All additional funds will go to Buggy's family.
Thank you for your support and consideration.
