Celebrate Brent's Legacy and Help His Family

UPDATE 2: Thank you everyone for your support! We now know the total costs of final arrangements is right at $15k, so we've adjusted the goal accordingly. We're still working on getting the date & such settled, but as soon as we know will let everyone know. Please continue to help spread the word to reach our goal!

UPDATE: We are beyond blown away at everyone stepping up to help Brent's family. We've raised the goal as Brent had no life-insurance, all expenses are falling to the family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your continued support!

We are devastated to share that our dear friend and brother, Brent Carnes, has passed away. Brent was so much more than a friend to us—he was the heart and soul of our community. His kindness, creativity, and passion shaped Atlanta's goth club scene into a place where we all felt safe, welcomed, and part of something truly special.

Brent was the person you could always rely on. Whether it was late-night heart-to-hearts, tech help, or just being a supportive presence, he was always there. He put his whole heart into everything he did. Just recently, he celebrated 10 years of Ascension at Dragon Con, a huge milestone that made us all so proud. He was doing what he loved most, and it showed.

We've started this GoFundMe to help his family with final expenses. All donations will go directly to his sister, Destiny, who is handling everything. Your support means the world during this incredibly tough time, giving them one less thing to worry about as they navigate their grief.

Brent's spirit will live on in all of us and in the community he built. We're committed to keeping Ascension going in his honor, so his love for music, art, and bringing people together continues to thrive. We'll miss him more than words can say, but we'll keep his memory alive through the stories we share and the bonds he helped create.
