A letter from Alice Tarkeshi:

Dear Friends,

Words I've gotten from our community have deeply warmed my heart supporting me in grieving the loss of my first-born daughter,  Ariana.

I offer a poem inspired by my love for her to accompany the request for some financial support, as you can afford it, to cover a variety of costs pertaining to the transition we need to make to practically seal her life.

I feel the roots of all the lineages we share that in times like these pulse with deep compassion.

Hawk

It's like a bell has struck our hearts
and sent out waves vibrating throughout our bodies still here
and weeping back into the ocean she loves

because it's now, as always, that the pain and the love are felt
acutely
like the fire of sunset burning the end of the day away

and I sit in the sorrow
the hollow where her living presence had been
cradling
awaiting word of any kind

maybe a hawk, one of her totems, will appear hovering on high -
its great wing span. signaling her liberation...
