On the night of August 30, 2025, my sister, Amanda Mclendon, was tragically killed in a shooting in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. She was only 25 years old, with so much life ahead of her. Our family is devastated by this sudden, senseless loss.
Amanda was more than what happened to her. She was full of love, laughter, and resilience. She cared deeply for her family and friends, and she left an impression on everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. To us, she will always be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and her spirit.
We want to ensure Amanda is honored in the way she deserves with dignity, love, and remembrance. Unfortunately, funeral and memorial costs are heavy, and our family was not prepared for such an unexpected tragedy.
We are asking for support to cover Amanda’s funeral and burial expenses. Every contribution, no matter the amount will go directly toward giving her the farewell she deserves. Your generosity will help us celebrate her life, honor her memory, and find a measure of peace in the midst of heartbreak.
From my family to yours, thank you for your compassion, prayers, and support.
