Help Celebrate Three Remarkable Graduates with the Graduation They Deserve
This spring, three extraordinary students are graduating from high school — not from the stage they once imagined, but from one they and their families are building from scratch, with love, intention, and pride.
These students were part of a one-of-a-kind, mission-driven performing arts school that was more than just a school — it was a home. It was a nurturing, inclusive space where students learned not only technique and craft, but also the power of perseverance, collaboration, and community. They were taught to lead with kindness, to learn from failure, and to strive for excellence with grace and gratitude.
Each of these graduates embraced those values wholeheartedly. They volunteered, led, mentored, and grew into artists and citizens their younger selves would be proud of. They gave so much to their school — and then, with just one year left, they learned that the school would be closing at the end of their junior year.
The news was heartbreaking. For these three students, it meant the abrupt end of the senior year they'd been working toward for so long — a year typically filled with cherished traditions, mentorship, college application support, and the culmination of years of growth and community-building.
These three chose to finish their final year independently through homeschool. They’ve carried a heavy emotional and logistical burden — managing academics, auditions, and applications largely on their own, while grieving the loss of the community and closure that senior year is meant to bring.
Now, together with their families, they are creating the graduation experience they deserve — a celebration of their hard work, their strength, and their journey. They’ve secured a venue, rented AV equipment, ordered caps and gowns, hired a photographer, arranged catering, planned a personalized ceremony, and invited speakers who’ve made a difference in their lives.
But hosting a meaningful event in Northern Virginia is costly, and that's why we're turning to our community — near and far — for help.
Our Goal: $5,500
Every dollar raised will go directly toward honoring these students in the way they’ve earned: with dignity, joy, and celebration. Your support will help fund:
Venue and AV rental
Photography and videography
Caps, gowns, and programs
Catering and reception
Decorations and ceremony logistics
If you’ve ever believed in the power of education, in the resilience of young people, or in the importance of showing up for others — this is your chance to be part of something truly special. These three students are not just graduating — they are rising, and we hope you’ll rise with them.
Thank you for helping us honor their journey.
