Hi Family, I am Daniel Bruce Kelly, Mama Karen’s son. I am a minister and a current student at Cal State Long Beach doing American Studies.

Before I met my wife last year, my mom Karen Kelly was in the hospital and almost left us. This is not new to us, as she has been in and out of hospitals ever since I was a baby, as she suffers from mental illness. Last year in June, her organs almost failed her because she refused to eat or drink, but thankfully she was spared. Then, on July 23rd 2024 I met my wife Melody and we knew within a week that we were meant to be. We got married on the 4th of August 2024 at the courthouse in Santa Ana, and then a small wedding in Singapore. But we didn’t get a chance to celebrate with many of our friends and family because it was on such short notice.

So, we planned a wedding for August 2025 in California to celebrate with our friends and family.

In February of this year, Mama Kelly was in the hospital again. Thankfully she came back out and seemed better than before. Since then she was getting better and better, her symptoms seemed milder than before. We prayed she would never go back, and we still believe that it will never be as bad as before.

Meanwhile, Melody and I are planning our wedding with no budget - we are both ministers, students and artists. We had to live by faith and faith alone. No doubt with support from friends and family praying alongside us, connecting us, blessing us.

However, in the last two weeks, Mama Kelly began not wanting to eat again, and it was a struggle to get her to eat even a small bowl of food. We began to see similar signs from last year of her health and body failing, and so finally, we had to call the ambulance and have her admitted at the hospital again.

All the hospital bills are adding up, however, and so we decided to do this gofundme to ask for help!

Her hospital stay from the last time alone is billed for $130,000. Added on to that, we are still planning this wedding for 2nd August 2025, which is also a lot of finances.

We know she will be out by the wedding (by faith), but in the meantime, we are asking our community for help in this time ❤️
