This year marks the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo web-site, and we are raising funds to cover printing costs for a special anniversary book to celebrate.

The Usagi Yojimbo Dojo web-site was created in 1996 by a single fan of the comic. In just over a year, his personal web-site had attracted hundreds of other Usagi Yojimbo fans, dozens of whom volunteered to help build and improve the web-site. When Stan Sakai was introduced to the web-site, he was so impressed that he began providing news on upcoming stories and previews of forthcoming covers.

Dark Horse Comics, the publishers of Usagi Yojimbo at the time, started publishing the web-site address in each issue of Usagi Yojimbo starting with Usagi Yojimbo v.3 #7, and the site became the "Official Usagi Yojimbo Dojo" for the next twenty years.

During those twenty years, a lot of fans visited the web-site and interacted with each other (and Stan Sakai) on the Usagi Yojimbo Dojoboard forum. Starting as a chatboard and then upgraded to a phpBB forum, the Dojoboard became the heart and soul of the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo and Stan Sakai's direct connection to his fans. Between 2016 and 2017, most of the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo web-site was converted into what would become the stansakai.com web-site, and all that remained was the Dojoboard forum. That forum eventually became a casualty of the recent domain changes and old age.

During the time that the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo was up and running, it spawned several international branches (France, Poland, Japan, etc.) and made forays into the new social media sites like MySpace, Facebook, Reddit, and Discord. Wherever there were Usagi Yojimbo fans, the Dojo was there.....
