Homeless & Needing Assistance
Donation protected
As many of you know, I was diagnosed in 2014 with scleroderma. Two years later, my husband filed for divorce, and due to my “handicaps,” I was only given 30% custody of my children. I never took child or spousal support from my husband because he said it would be like taking food from my children’s mouths. I have attempted to work in corporate America, as a waitress, and have done clerical work, but I can’t ever seem to make ends meet.
My disabilities have stolen away my life, and for the past two years, I’ve been living with friends and even strangers. I work so much and so hard that my health suffers every day, and I am unable to take care of myself, let alone my rented space. I have now been evicted and am officially homeless (living in a hotel room with my dog, Gracie, who provides the only shining light for me right now). My therapist wants me to file for disability and other resources. Right now I get free insurance, but nothing else. If anyone could recommend where to start and what to apply for, I would appreciate any assistance. I would also humbly ask if you could help monetarily in any way. Even the smallest amount would make a big difference, and I would be forever grateful for this chance to get back up on my feet and to feel hope again. Thank you, everyone, and God bless.
