Ceiling cave in & External plumbing collapse
Hi, my name is Lisa Csanyi. I am the owner of Lisa's Love Boutique & Studio in Bad Axe, Michigan. I purchased my building in June 2022. I was required to have $20,000 for a down payment. I used my entire savings to pay the down payment and get the store set up for business. Now, 10 months later, I have found myself in quite a heart-wrenching situation. In one week, 3 major things happened:
# 1: I found out the plumbing leaving my building, under the city parking lot, has collapsed. It is my portion of the piping that leads to the city sewer line. It is my responsibility to repair it. I am unable to use my bathrooms. I have to lock my doors & use neighboring businesses' bathrooms.
#2: We found out my Mom has liver cancer. She is my best friend and the biggest supporter of my business. I have changed my business hours to be closed 2 days a week to take her to her cancer appointments.
#3: I came in to find my building's ceiling was caving in. My husband & I moved all of my products to the other side of my building. My husband used our tallest ladder & a 5-gallon bucket to stop the cave-in from falling to the original hardwood floor. The contractor is here working to prevent any further damage.
I never expected to experience such a great loss in such a short time frame. I have not built up my savings since my large down payment 10 months ago. My finances are just not prepared for such large impacts so quickly into building ownership.
I am so sorry to be asking for help! I am usually the one giving to those around me. Everyone who comes to my store receives a gift to brighten their day. I am the Secretary for our local Chamber of Commerce. I feel my best when I'm loving people. To be on the receiving end is humbling and a complete blessing to me!
Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
