Help Us Lay Cedric Whitehurst to Rest

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of my big brother, Cedric Whitehurst, who left us unexpectedly a little over a week ago. Our family has been in a state of shock, trying to process this loss and figure out how to give him the farewell he deserves.

Cedric was a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend with a great sense of humor who brought laughter and light to everyone around him. His passing has left our family heartbroken—especially my mother, whose Mother’s Day weekend, meant to be filled with love and joy, was instead filled with grief as she now carries the heavy burden of planning her oldest child’s memorial.

Over the past several days, so many people have reached out asking how they can help. This is it.

Cedric did not have life insurance or savings set aside for final expenses. We’re reaching out to our community, friends, and extended family to ask for help covering the cost of funeral arrangements and a small memorial service to honor his life.

This is, and will be, the only official fundraiser for Cedric—unless otherwise stated by the family.

Any amount you’re able to give will make a difference, and even if you can’t donate, we ask that you please share this with others who may be able to help.

We also hope this serves as a reminder to consider life insurance. It’s never easy to think about, but it can protect your family from the emotional and financial burden of unexpected final expenses.
