Cedric Troupe's Community Fund
Donation protected
Cedric Troupe was the oldest son of 7 children and lived his entire life in Oakland, CA. He was a San Francisco State University alum and active member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, "The Wicked" Omicron Zeta Chapter. Cedric spent the majority of his adult life as an Oakland business owner with his A/V company "The Hookup."
Cedric was a well-known contributor to his community as Castlemont Swim Coach, affectionately known as "Coach Troupe." Cedric also started the East Oakland Swim Club which is a community organization focused on rejuvenating the culture of swimming among the youth of Oakland and surrounding communities. He taught Oakland's youth the benefits of using swimming as a vehicle for self-development, stress relief, fitness, and water safety skills. Cedric himself was an avid swimmer and participated in many Bay Area swimming events, namely the Swim to Alcatraz which he participated in annually. Cedric also took his passion for Oakland's community to the political scene and ran for Mayor of Oakland in 2018.
Our goal with this fund is to continue Cedric Troupe's goal of providing access to positive alternatives for the youth of Oakland. We plan to host annual free youth swim days, create scholarships and many other possibilities that will benefit the youth of Oakland, CA.
