The Gardner family would like to invite you to contribute to the memorial fund created for Military Veteran-Lieutenant Commander-Cedric Gardner's children in the wake of his passing. His three children- Caryn, Kayhn, and Kyser, and his family, thank you for your support and love during this difficult time.
Cedric Ahmed Gardner, 42, of Knob Noster, Missouri, passed away May 6th, 2023.
Cedric was born in Wichita, Kansas to Cedric B. Gardner and Sylvia Breckenridge Gardner. He attended primary and secondary schools in Lawrence, Kansas. Cedric attended Prairie View A&M University where he joined the Navy ROTC program, became a Brother of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, and earned his BA in Political Science.
While stationed in Hawaii, Cedric rose up the ranks in the United States Navy to Lieutenant Commander. While serving his country, he discovered his passion for traveling and the great outdoors. If he wasn't hiking, camping, or riding horses, he was scaling Mt. Fuji, getting lost in the New Zealand outback, and rafting down a snake infested river in Thailand. Cedric's photos include lions, Thai elephants, gorillas, Rwandan leopards, brown bears, and Alaskan sled dogs. When not traveling, Cedric was an avid rower who found his ohana in the New Hope Canoe Club.
Cedric is survived by his parents, Cedric and Sylvia Gardner, siblings Zayani Mandigo (Brian), Bilal Gardner (Carlibel), Saida Gardner, and Michelle Greenberg, children Caryn Gardner, Kayhn Gardner, and Kyser Gardner, nephews Lunden Mandigo and Jorge Carrera, nieces Layla Mandigo and Emilita Carrera, lifelong friends Tanyon Harris, Pete Skakal, Shemeya Grant, and Priscilla Gardner, the 18 Ice Mummies of Kemet, and dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
