My name is Christy and I am 40 years old.  Since I was in high school, playing basketball, I have had issues with my right knee.  It has often given me a lot of pain, but I just pushed through it and never bothered to have it checked out.  When I was in my 20s, I was active and into Tang Soo Do.  In one of my tournaments, I dislocated my right kneecap.  Thankfully I didn't have to have surgery as nothing tore, only stretched a bit.  Since then my knee has not been the same.  
Recently I decided to have it checked out as it has been quite painful- sometimes waking me in the middle of the night, and my left knee has started doing the same.  It turns out that I have to have a kneecap replacement on my right knee and a lateral release on my left.  

Typically I would not ask for financial help.  I am usually the one helping others and so this is a bit more difficult for me to do.  My insurance deductible and co-insurance is quite high for a total of $6350, and then I have to pay 20% above that.   Any amount would be greatly helpful- $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $500, $1000.  I have some money saved up to pay a portion but I will not be able to pay it all.  My right knee surgery will take place at the end of the month as it is hindering life in general- making it difficult to walk up stairs, to sleep, to exercise, etc.
