Cecily's Caring Cradle

On Friday, February 2nd, 2018, Jade and Gasper experienced an unimaginable loss that no parent should ever experience. At a routine prenatal appointment, Jade and Gasper were told that their sweet baby girl, Cecily Rosebriar, who was due to arrive in three weeks, no longer had a heartbeat. From that moment, Jade and Gasper's lives were forever changed and they began the journey of navigating a road filled with heartache and unimaginable sorrow.
On Saturday, February 3rd, 2018, Cecily Rosebriar was born sleeping at 11am. She weighed 6lbs 1oz and was 20 inches long. She was beautiful and had strawberry blond hair and looked just like her big brother and sister.
Cecily's aunt had previously heard of a cooling cradle that was developed for families that experience the loss of a baby that allows families the ability to spend as much time with their baby as they need while saying their final goodbyes. Since the hospital where Cecily was delivered did not have one of these devices, her aunt and uncle found one at another Michigan hospital with the help of the United States Cooperative Caring Campaign Initiative (http://www.storiesofbabiesbornstill.org) and they were willing to loan it to our family.
With the help of this cooling cradle, Cecily's family was able to hold her, talk to her, sing to her and love on her as they grieved the loss of her together. Cecily was able to stay overnight in the hospital with her Mom and Dad to provide precious time to say goodbye.
Because close to 29,000 families in the United States each year experience the loss of a baby as Jade and Gasper have; It is our hope, as Cecily's Aunt and Uncle, to raise the funds needed to place one of these caring cradles in the hospital where Cecily was born, in her memory. To help other families beginning this painful journey with allowing them more precious time with their little one to say goodbye in their own way and on their time.
