On behalf of my family, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the donations from our family, friends and strangers.

My name is Judy Catherine Valite and I am Cecilia's 2nd oldest grandchild. My grandmother was born in the Philippines. She raised 1 daughter and 2 sons with one who lost his vision at such a young age. My grandmother raised me, my older brother and younger sister while my parents migrated to the United States. She raised us until we reunited with our parents in 1993. My grandmother helped her other grandchildren in the Philippines to pursue their education. She helped fund their education working as a babysitter and home attendant.

My 86 year old grandmother had a tragic accident on 8/13/23 where she fell and hit her head. She was rushed to Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas where she was diagnosed with a subdural hemmorhage, subarachnoid hemmorhage and skull fracture. She was transferred to Sunrise Hospital for trauma. Even though the prognosis was poor, we asked the medical team to do everything possible.

Before arriving in Las Vegas, we received a devastating call from her doctor where she had four episodes of cardiac arrest and was able to be revived. Unfortunately, the fifth resuscitation was not successful.

My family needs help with funeral arrangements to send my grandmother's body to the Philippines where she can reunite with her husband and her younger son. This will include storing the body, flights and service. Any monetary donations are greatly appreciated.

My grandmother, Cecilia Lorenzo Madriaga, lived a long and full life. Although her death was sudden, we will cherish the memories we had. She is survived by her daughter (Judith), son-in-law (Teody), son (Ferdinand), daughter-in-law (Mila), 10 grandchildren (Sherwin, Judy Catherine, Judy Jacqueline, Sheila, Karen, TJ, Philip, Michelle, Liezel, Christian) and 5 great-grandchildren (Kobe, Hunter, Carter, Lena, Hudson).
