Hello, we have started this fundraiser on behalf of the Roche family of Norwin and their sweet Cece. Funds collected will go directly to this family to help with all the growing costs they have encountered.
On June 18, 2022 the Roche family had their lives turned upside down… they were given the devastating news that then five year old Cece had a six inch Wilms tumor attached to her kidney. Five days later… Cece underwent a nine hour surgery where they removed her kidney , the tumor (which completely engulfed her entire kidney), her gallbladder, a small amount of liver and put her port in for treatment. Over the next nine months, Cece then underwent six rounds of radiation and fifteen rounds of chemo. Finally on February 2nd, Cece was declared cancer free! One month later, she was finally able to go into the school building for Kindergarten, something that made Cece and her family so happy!
Next was the summer of Cece! The Roche family threw a big Thank You party for all their friends and family to celebrate the remission. We all thought the family could take a breathe.
Then two days before they left for Cece's Make A Wish trip to Disneyland/ California she had her six month scan. Doctors assumed it would be “boring” (boring is good) well it was anything but… they found a tumor on her liver. Now Cece must embark again on a journey for her health.
Last week, Cece went in for surgery to have her port put back in. The family also made the decision to have one of her ovaries removed and frozen because her upcoming chemotherapy regimen will make her infertile. This decision provided a unique opportunity for her surgeon to see the tumor on camera since he was already in there for the ovary. He decide the tumor was in a good spot to remove. That was not in the original plan but we are thrilled it is out! After Cece recovers from this she will begin inpatient chemo. This means the family will be staying at the hospital 3-5 nights every two weeks for the next eight months. Clint and Gabby plan to split the nights for work reasons, sanity reasons and of course for someone to be home with Gia and try to give her normalcy.
Please consider helping this amazing family and our brave Cece.️
