On Saturday 3rd August, I will be attempting to swim the entire length of Lake Zurich (26km ~ about 10 hours of swimming!), to raise money for the CVSA UK (Cyclical Vomiting Association UK).
CVS is a rare condition which predominantly affects children but can remain throughout their adult life. It presents itself in the form of an "attack", a bit like a stomach migraine causing, at times, unbearable pain followed by repeated vomiting and nausea. It is a frightening and traumatic experience for both the sufferer and their family. Little is known about the condition. The CVSA charity desperately needs help to conduct new research for medication and treatments, to help sufferers and their families live with the condition. I have suffered with CVS for over 18 years.
Although it is too late for me, I am determined to raise awareness and help find a cure for this cruel condition. I hope that one day, no child will have to experience a CVS attack again.
Thank you very much for your time and support.
