My parents' home emergency

To say that this year has been a tough year is an understatement. I have been emotionally, mentally, and financially stretched to the limit. My attempts to stay strong were going well, that is, until the latest bad news -- my parents' hot water boiler broke due to a burst pipe. The timing couldn't be any worse because my parents’ house insurance lapsed just a few days before it happened My dad, who has dementia, was in the hospital and my mom was staying with me. I've been trying to make sure my parents’ important bills are paid, but I didn't have access to this particular bill until it was too late. It is now unclear whether my dad will return home, but the boiler needs to be replaced in any case in order for my mom to continue to live at home upon her return from Sweden.
