There’s no handbook on what to do after a rape or sexual assault. There is no concrete answer to, what now? And there is even less information out there regarding additional assault - when one is violated again. The emotional, psychological, and physical toll trauma like sexual assault is beyond measurement, and the harm is only magnified when someone is subjected to multiple violations.
Well, I’m one of those someones. On February 13th, 2021, I was raped for the second time in my life.
8 years apart, and in completely different circumstances.
This year has been tough on everyone, and being part of the AAPI community, I’ve spent much of this time quiet, trying to process the violence I've experienced within the last 7 weeks.
This body of mine has endured rape trauma twice. I want to give back to my body that’s been holding it together from day 1. I want to gift my body with something that hasn’t been violated, or harmed. I’ve always wanted a breast augmentation, and in doing so now, made the decision matter.
Part of my healing process has been finding the strength to ask for help. That’s where this GoFundMe comes in. I’m asking for your help and support to fund my breast augmentation, like how you ask your friends to sign your cast after a broken bone. Any amount at all helps, whether you want to sign your name in big bubble letters, or in fine print.
All funds raised will go directly towards my out-of-pocket surgery costs, including pre-op procedures like lab work, and post-op recovery.
My total cost will be 7,648.00. The surgery will be done here in Philadelphia, with Dr. Adrien Lo on May 24th, 2021. I'll be running this gofundme until the day of surgery, but the full costs will be due on May 5th.
