Help Carrie FIGHT breast cancer!

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

This is Stacy and Jennifer, sisters of our sweet Carrie Roque. We come to you with a humbling request. Please help us help our BIG SISTER!

We did not hesitate to create this fund because we know many of you love and appreciate Carrie like we do and that you would do all you can to help. Our family went through this once with the loss of our dad from cancer. He too was a pillar of the community, as Carrie is. Luckily with this great communication outreach platform, we can help give Carrie's family the peace of mind our mother couldn't have after our father died and was left a mountain of bills.

Carrie’s Diagnosis
On March 25, 2021, Carrie and her family’s life was turned upside down. Carrie, a vibrant mother of 3 teen daughters and wife to her supportive husband Eddie, was diagnosed with two different kinds of fast growing aggressive breast cancers. The first diagnosis revealed a Stage 2 tumor in her left breast that spread to metastatic disease in at least 4 of her lymph nodes. The second, revealed Stage Zero (luckily) in a different location in the left breast. Through all the multiple doctor visits and chemo sickness and fatigue, it has been an emotional toll on this fun-loving family to say the least.

Carrie’s Career
As a dedicated elementary school teacher in the PVP school district in Southern California, Carrie happily followed in her father’s footsteps as a devoted and influential teacher and role model. In her now 30 year career, she has inspired over 800 students in the same loving way our father did. Our dad Coach John Lingle, was a local hero, high school science teacher, athletic director, head basketball coach, football coach, golf coach, track coach, and to the marginalized, a friend. After years of teaching and winning several state basketball championships at the high school level, Coach Lingle moved on as the head coach at the local college, Mt. St. Claire. Our dad battled Colon Cancer at the tender age of 55 and sadly passed at 57. Carrie, like our dad, is teaching her students the joys of education and life, and is making a deep impact on their love of learning.

Tragically, on October 11, 2021, our dear mother passed away suddenly. Mom was extremely proud of Carrie and loved us and her seven grandkids deeply.   Mom had been a pillar of strength to Carrie in her diagnosis and had been her cheerleader, so much so, that she had her breast tissue donated to help 25  women with their reconstruction from breast cancer.

Carrie’s Past Procedures and Dr. Appointments

While Carrie and her family weren’t emotionally prepared for a shocking diagnosis like this, they also weren’t financially prepared for the compounded costs of medical procedures, to include so far:
• Breast MRI biopsies
• Breast MRIs
• Cat-Scan
• Pet-Scan
• 4 A/C Chemotherapy treatments
• 8 Taxol Chemotherapy treatments
• Numerous Lab Work appointments
• Genetic Testing
• Genetic Biopsy Testing
• Weekly checkups with her various team of doctors

Carrie’s Upcoming Surgeries and Procedures

While Carrie’s chemo treatments are now behind her, her numerous outstanding medical bills are not. Carrie’s health insurance has covered some of the cost, but not enough that she can afford. Carrie will have the following upcoming surgeries and procedures:
• Double mastectomy and lymph node removal surgery with hospitalization- October 26, 2021.
• Possible radiation treatments after her surgery recovery.
• Reconstruction surgery and hospitalization slated for early 2022.

Help Carrie’s Family Move Forward

Carrie is an amazing teacher and public servant, and as we all know, teachers don't get the financial support they deserve. So we send this out to you, to show how much we love and appreciate Carrie and all she does for her students, community, and our world.

Please share Carrie’s story on your social media platforms and email.

Any amount will help and will be greatly and humbly appreciated. We will keep you updated on Carrie’s progress.

Thank you for making a difference.
