SURPRISE and SECRET: CDS Outdoor Classroom
Donation protected
********* Please keep this a secret from the Lidboms!!! ************
My name is Caison Redfield, and I am a student in the tenth grade at Calvary Day School. If you don’t know me personally, I am Brenda Lidbom’s grandson.
Calvary Day School has wanted to build outdoor classrooms but has not been able to complete one yet. Because of COVID-19, this need is even greater to get them built. Once built, teachers will have additional socially-distanced space to take students for class, and Upper School students will have extra outdoor space to eat lunch and visit outside where there is less chance of getting COVID-19.
I am currently an Adventurer in Trail Life USA, a Christian outdoor adventure group. In Trail Life USA, the highest possible award to earn is the Freedom Award, similar to the Eagle Award for Boy Scouts. To earn the Freedom Award, I have to complete a project, just like Eagle Scouts do. I have chosen to build an outdoor classroom for Calvary Day School as my Freedom Project. I would like to complete my project in December 2020 so that we can use it when we return after Christmas break. The school and church have both approved this project.
********* Please keep this a secret from the Lidboms!!! ************
One thing that I want to do is to dedicate this outdoor classroom to my grandmother. Please do not tell her!!! I want this to be a secret! Giving money to fund this project is one way to give something back to her for all the things that she has done things for everyone while she has been here. She has worked at CDS for thirty years, and she is retiring in 2021, which makes this even more special a project to me.
I am budgeting that this project will cost about $3500, but the benefit of it will be worth a lot more than that cost. Will you please help me by donating so that I can build this classroom? If I get more than my goal, I will either build another outdoor classroom myself or give the leftover money to the school so that more can be made later.
Thank you so much for considering helping me make Calvary a better place for present and future students in honor of a person who has helped so many people for so many years.
Sincerely,
Caison Redfield
