Helping Margaret

Hi my name is Geri Holmes. Our friend and Atlantis family team member Margaret Berry needs our help.

Margaret is the Finance Admin for our department and is always at the helm when anyone needs anything, whether it's for our department or another department.

Not long ago, Margaret and her husband, Wayne moved to Reno with their 3 dogs, "Zero", "Addy" & "Coco" to be closer to Waynes family. In 2021, not long after they moved to Reno, Margaret unexpectedly lost the love of her life and husband of 26 years. She struggles everyday missing Wayne but always finds a way back to her positive caring nature.

When Margaret is not at work, she donates much her time to her church, Calvary Baptist Church Reno teaching Childrens Ministry to 3 & 4 year old as you see in her cover picture. That's Margaret with the Bear :)

It shocked us all when 2 weeks ago Margaret said she was diagnosed with Endometrial (Uterine) Cancer. Then, this past Tuesday she developed a 101 temperature and went to the doctor. The doctor immediately sent her to the hospital. After a battering of tests her was diagnosed with yet another type of Cancer, Leukemia, Cancer of the blood. She was told she will be in the hospital for a minimum of 30 days most likely longer.

We want Margaret to focus on beating this terrible disease. She is currently in the ICU at Renown Medical Center and is going to be starting aggressive chemo treatments in 7 to 10 days. We do not want her stressing over how she will pay for her medical bills, or losing the apartment she worked so hard to stay in after Wayne's passing, or her vehicle or any other necessity.
